An umbracle made of segments of metallic cones. (with Martin Baden)

Depending on the height of the cone sections the shadow generated by the structure increases or decreases. Through CAD/CAM technologies a system of individually different cone segments can be produced. Every cone segment will be cut out of metal sheets by laser cutting.
After that the unrolled metal sheets will be rolled to form the cone and glued. The cones can be screwed together through parametrically placed perforations. The parametrization was achieved by using the computer software Grasshopper3d.
